Baby Legwarmer Sizing FAQ
Are all baby & toddler leg warmers the same?
It depends, Skidpants offers a lightweight version, which is great for summer, while Babylegs makes versions in heavier fabrics like wool that are
great for winter. Both
make most of their styles in a year-round cotton that comes in hundreds of different styles. They all also make their products
with pride and utmost quality. It really just depends on your personal preference and style, or seasonal needs.
Why don't all baby & toddler leg warmers have sizes?
Generally, you can let your eyes do the choosing, here, because all styles will fit your child (though
some may offer more leg coverage than others).
Skidpants are the longest, at around 40cm (almost 16") for all of their styles. These
will fit the average toddler, or 2-4 year old, to the top of their leg.
Babylegs standard pair is 33cm (about 13"), and will fit an average 18-24 month old to the top
of their leg. Younger children will be able to wear these around their toes. They also have a longer version in some styles of their standard legwarmer, in case you might want a bit more length.
Babylegs also makes a 40cm (16") Super Soft version that fits a 2-4 year old to the top of their leg.
Huggalugs has one size, 38cm (about 15"). These are made of super stretchy material that work particularly well
with older toddlers. These fit babies and newborns rather baggy, however have more of a cuff than the others, so they stay on just as well. Huggalugs also are
loved for their use as arm warmers, both on toddlers and adults. They go on bigger arms and legs much easier than Skidpants or Babylegs.
Melontree has one size, 38cm (about 15"). These are primarily marketed as toddler leg warmers, because they are made longer (about 15") and baggier than some of the other brands. They are also made oversized, with the intention that they will shrink to their normal size after they
are washed for the first time.

All legwarmers fit all babies and toddlers, however each fits differently. (See below)
The product description says that these will fit my 3 year old. Is that true? If so, how is that possible?
Yes! Baby legwarmers fit all kids, but not in the same way. A 3 year old won't have as much of their leg covered as a newborn would, but they
still have the same leg-covering effect. The average 3 year old would have coverage from their ankle, to mid thigh. They are also great for
covering the arms. They make perfect sleeves for chilly nights!
The product description says that these will fit my newborn. Is that true? If so, how is that possible?
Yes! Baby legwarmers fit all kids, but not in the same way. The average newborn would have coverage from their foot, to the area where the leg meets the trunk.
On the other hand, a 3 year old would only get coverage from ankle to mid thigh. Either way, legwarmers cover both ages.
They are also great for
covering the arms. They make perfect sleeves for chilly nights!
Why would I want to buy baby & toddler leg warmers in the summer?
Baby legwarmers make a great alternative, any time you would dress your child in pants. Air conditioned
buildings pose just as much a threat to your child's body temperature as the winter cold. Legwarmers
are the perfect alternative because you can keep your child warm indoors, then pull them off when you go
back outside.
Do I really need baby & toddler leg warmers?
Of course you do! Although, legwarmers aren't in the must have list in the same way that, say, diapers
are; they still are incredibly useful in the same way that you would use a blanket (only safer!) or pants.
